Medium moth - approx 40mm wingspan, low flying moth long body, segregated shaped body with ridge below head.

sliver y & prominents

Silver y looks superficially like a prominent (family Notodontidae) when at rest, however in the Silver y the tufts are actually on the abdomen, rather than on the hind edge of the forewing as in prominents. This can be seen in the first pic above.
