Just a few specimens growing in fenced-off area at Cow Green Reservoir, Upper Teesdale. One had at least three buds on but was too far away to photograph.

Mountain Everlasting is rapidly disappering from North-east England, please let the vice county recorder know you have seen it.

Reported to VC recorder who said it is more common in Scotland but is hanging on in Upper Teesdale

I think it is suffering from eutrophication. Even high in the hills nitrogen is being deposited and enriching the soil. This little bit you saw looks in danger of disappearing under grass.
