I hope you don't mind me asking, but could you give me directions to where exactly you were stream dipping to find these?
Where I live I have found, very rarely, River Lamprey (there is a picture of one of mine on ispot) but I have never seen a Brook Lamprey - it is one of my target species for 2012.
So, if you don't mind, I would love some specific directions to the exact spot where these were found. It would only leave me with one UK lamprey species to see!
Hi Yashca, sorry for not replying sooner - just found your question!
I marked the location as Santon Downham in Norfolk, and put the "map-pin" as close as I could to where we found the lampreys.
The river is the Little Ouse, and there are several places to park with beach-like access to the river. If Google maps isn't working for you, let me know and I'll resort to a direct email/phonecall.
Good luck - hope I haven't left it too late for you to meet your 2012 target!
