Proper name

Thanks for your IDs, I found the proper name from the Butterfly Conservation identifier, i'm not sure what the difference between an aglais io and inachis io is, they seem to be the same to me. Here's hoping my identifying skills will get better! Any comments more than welcome :)

Inachis io and Aglais io are

Inachis io and Aglais io are different names for the same species, the peacock - recent molecular evidence suggests that the species should be put in the same genus as the small tortoiseshell, Aglais urticae. The NBN species dictionary still seems to have Inachis as correct - perhaps David Notton can shed some more light on it?
