This cock blackbird with his mate, a pair of chaffinches, a pair of woodpigeons, a pair of collared doves and a pair of sparrows have just successfully driven off a pair of magpies that entered the garden. The alarm was raised by the chaffinches, and the others, led by the blackbirds came speeding over to drive the magpies away. They have now gone - and so have all the other birds, except the blackbird who is still staring at the oak tree where his nest is (and where the magpies were spotted)

Even more thanks!

Thanks once again to Vicky, browntrumpet and Ray Turner for getting back in contact. I am thoroughly enjoying the course - although it's made me realise how much I don't know and how much I want to know. I certainly want to carry on using iSpot after the course finishes. All the best to you all - mamoof
