We've added a couple of videos demonstrating how to register on iSpot and how to add an observation:
Let us know if these are of help, and if you have requests for others.
Despite adding many observations in the past I'm unable to do so recently. Is there some sort of IT problem ? Clicking on ' Preview' or 'Save' yields nothing and I'm unable to add the obs
Further to my previous comment the site just isn't working properly. Please let me know what is going on, I've wasted enough time trying to add observations...it's not as though I've never done it before !
Further to above comments, I now find that when the list of suggested species comes up,when typing in a possibility and I click on one of them ,that species appears in the box but the list does not disappear. Further the same thing happens for the location box. I click on one that comes up which I've used in the past - it goes in the box but the others do not disappear. This does NOT happen for the type of organism etc.
Can someone please put me right on this...at the moment I can not add observations..and I want to ! email@example.com
I often get this, & not just on iSpot. I don't know what causes it, but I find that, if I click on the box, the list closes. It will also close if you click anywhere else on the page.
Trying to add an observation - to get you to identify
Can you help?
Newts have soft, damp skin and must stay in damp places to avoid desiccation. They lay their thin skinned eggs in water.
Lizards have dry, scaly skin and may be found in dry places away from water. Their eggs are usually buried in sand or other soft soil & have shells to protect them from desiccation.
There are only about 3 or 4 species of each in the UK, but if you want an id., you will have to post a photo. Have you viewed the new videos?
I prefer textual help, (provided, of course, it does help & not just tell me what I already know, like so many!)
Text can be copied & pasted into a text file for revisiting. This cannot be done with video.
