Folks many thanks for the answer looking at The Encyclopedia of Life for Berberis darwinii those photos appear acccurate.
Now I need to find out if cuttings can be taken and how grown from this method, any pointers/ideas?
Thank you once again.
I have taken a sucker from one of the larger varieties of this plant and it came up with roots and it has not wilted after potting up. It is due to be planted as a damage resistant decorative planting as the thorns will help stop children ripping the flowers off.
