Description:

The upper moth of this mating pair had spots that were tangerine, not red. The only colour variation I can find in this species is one with clear yellow spots (the rare f. flava).

Your Burnet

The pale colour of the upper moth is probably due to wear - the upper wing seems to be very thin, to the extent that the red of the under wing is showing through.
