Fox and hare

The hare on the left is running, note the large distance between the fore legs (one behind the other) and the hind legs (parralel) and the depth of the prints. The fox was trotting, the prints are not so deep. Both are moving in the same direction. Unfortunately, there appears to have been a fresh fall of snow slightly obscuring the prints so I can not tell if the fox was following the hare, its trail or it's just a conincidence.

I came across this good photo of a hare running, it clearly shows how the hind legs are brought far forward of the forelegs which are being used to balance the hare whilst its hind legs are off the ground.

Coincidentally, a friend sent me this link from America of some prints. Before reading the comments in the forum take good note of the site's name and that of the forum! These are clearly a large rabbit, the snow is so deep and soft the animal's whole boddy as well as its legs are part of the print. You can clearly see the void between the hind legs. The front pair of legs merge into one smudged print and are partially obscured by the body print.

Above top secret

Hi Graham,
I am sure it was coincidence, the hare has been passing through the yard for years ,possibly sucessive generations as they hide their leverets in some rough ground to the rear of yard, I"ve found several not having any dogs or cats helps to explain why they come so close.
The photos on A T S mightt explain where the myth of Bigfoot came about with a 6ft step.Only in America...:)

Regards foxy.
