To be certain, look for footprints. You can get these if you put a spadeful of wet soil/fine sand along the suspected fox route. Also look for the classic red hair, which may've snagged on fences or plants. One cannot really tell from this photo alone whether a fox uses this route or not.

paths on Howardian LNR and when passing I often notice the foxes musky scent, another sign to look out for.

The run is more likely to have been initially made by rabbits and the foxes are using it. Foxes don't usually make their own runs, they wander just following the route of least resistance and any that smell of food!
