Description:

My thoughts that it was Common Cleavers (based on it being a sticky climber) soon proved wrong. The flowers are TINY - not much more than
2mm across and clustered at the base of the leaves (like a Catchfly) - and the fruit looks a bit like a mauve bur with "hooks".
