Anyone know what Bombus this is? Thanks.

How rare are the two brown carders, what are they called and is there a distribution map online anywhere?
Thanks, John Griffiths

Try the NBN Gateway for B. humilis and B. muscorum. The first is not that rare in parts of S England. The other is scarcer and mainly coastal now in England, I think (but I don't know the situation at first hand).
recording wildlife with The Recorder's Year on www.hbrg.org.uk/TRY.html.
See BWARS website for all British Bumblebee distributions. For the names I can recommend Ted Benton's book 'Bumblebees' in the New Naturalist series, which is a excellent introduction to the group.
Thank you both
