How do you know it's var. urticata?

There are several varieties of Puccinia urticata, based on the other host (one or other species of sedge).

Unless one knows for certain the other host, I think this can only be named to species when on nettle?

Host

Ok, there was an awful lot of it about and when I first noticed it, I started looking for it, but I only saw it on nettles.
