Ancient Oak Tree observed in Newstead Woods, Orpington. Using the method suggested on www.stuffynwood.com of girth divided by 1.25cm, this tree is approx. 220 years old. I observed green algae and moss at the base; ivy was present. There was also grey/green floriose lichen. Deadwood was present in Crow but not on the ground and holes were present in the stem. The height of the tree was approximately 15m.
