A sparrow like bird with grey head and breast.Usually a ground feeder, this one is learning to use the hanging seed feeder since the snows.Pictures not good but thought interesting to show addaption of habits to weather.

Dunnock learning.

"Our" Dunnock's are not as advanced as this one, they still feed on the ground. We have noticed how observant they are though, as soon as the clumsy Starlings alight on the feeeder, they assemble immediately underneath to pick up the dropped seeds and nut bits. Blackbirds give the Dunnocks some competition too, but they are not so quick on the job!
