Description:

Suddenly, a vast number of these (for the most past) & other grass moths in a couple of fields near the River Thames at Wallingford. It may have been a trick of the bright sunlight but rear rends of their abdomens appeared to glow like little torches, as can be seen in the burnt out bits of the photos. Does anyone know whether it was just the light or what was causing it?
