Hornet found in ancient woodland

I'd have to say there is far too much orange and not enough black on the sides of the thorax for this to be a D.media queen. For a nice example of what I mean see the D.media picture at http://kuva1.kuvablogi.com/iso/img410954.jpg
Possibly just a hibernating hornet rather than dead?
