The bright green thorax and banded abdomen might mean its C formosa?

Very common at the moment. A soldier fly because of the small discal cell in the wing; no spines on the end of the scutellum, hairy eyes, and medium size takes it to Chloromyia formosa. A male...the female has a blue abdomen.
