Having said I'm as sure as I can be, I suppose Chrysolina americana is also a possibility.

I thought..............

I thought it might be Chysolina americana. Certainly the colours are right for that species. But it doesn't look striped enough and it'd be more likely to see it on rosemary or lavender than nettle.

I think...

Looking at previous records on NBN it looks far more likely to be Chrysolina fastuosa, however, knowing this is a very unrecorded area, that doesnt count for much, something I am trying to rectify. I just wish I had taken time to get a better photo!
