Thanks. The markings on the abdomen are different from those on ythe specimen of this same species that I saw back in April and that you kindly identified for me. Is one male and the other female?

Not sure whether your photos are male and female. The British Dragonfly Society website says "The female exists in several colour forms varying in the amount of red and black on the abdomen from nearly all black in f. melanotum to mainly red in f. fulvipes."
