this was on the canal. there is a pair, i think his mate was on the nest. they have been here for years, just these 2.

Curly tail feathers

I think that if you see a duck with curly tail feathers like this one, then it's a drake and it's got Mallard blood in it somewhere (ducks seem to hybridise easily).

mallard hybrid

hi mike. we have a lot of mallards here and there is this pair of white ones and there are 2 other different ones both on my ispot observations. thanks for the info about the curly tail feathers and it would seem to fit as the female may have been on the nest.
