English Oak tree observed in Lesnes Abbey Woods next to footpath very close to New Road. Its girth was 310cm and its height was approx. 18m. It has been coppiced and it is alive and standing. There was no evidence of deadwood on the ground, however, there was some in 'crow'. There was Algae on the North side of the tree and on the West side there was a small amount of green foliose Lichen (pictured). Using the method suggested on www.stuffynewood.com of girth divided by 1.25cm, this tree is approx. 248 years old.
