Oak tree found in Lesnes Abbey Woods away from the main pathway close to New Road. Its girth was 340cm and its height around 18m. This was a maiden tree, still standing and alive. There was a lot of deadwood on the ground around this tree and also some in 'crow'. This tree has brambles growing up it but also has Ivy firmly attached at its base (as in the picture). There is little evidence of epiphytes, although a small amount of grey crustose Lichen was present at the base. Using the method suggested on www.stuffynewood.com of girth divided by 1.25cm, this tree is approx. 272 years old.
