An Ancient Oak to the East of a path through Lesnes Abbey Woods. It's girth was 308cm and it's height was 18m. I noticed that the tree had been coppiced, but it is still standing and alive. There were inverts present as well as large amounts of green crustose Lichen and Algae. I also observed a relatively small, but deep hole in the base of the trunk between two roots. Using the method suggested on www.stuffynewood.com of girth divided by 1.25cm, this tree is approx. 246 years old.
