Musk Beetle (Aromia Moschata)

This beetle is supposed to smell like the mush flower used to smell - but I was unable to pick its smell out above the rest of the smells in the meadow. A beautiful green in colour and about an inch long.

Hi, I have loads of thesein my garden, but have never noticed a 'smell' from them, I presume it may do it when under attack as a warning, but am interested if any one has actually smelt something from them.. and what was it like???

re: smell

I spent 18 years in the chemical industry my sense of smell is shot.

This beetle as far as I know

This beetle as far as I know emits no smell whatsoever because it isn't a musk beetle at all!
