...are you sure you as sure as you can be!!

I cannot agree from this picture, as it does not show the key features like the stigma colour, the colour or ratio of certain veins in the wing...etc.

Interesting flies, though...but I am not finding many, at the moment...the season seems to have passed.

Well I was c&p and didn't notice that the wrong name had been whacked in. Then I coiuldn't workout how to edit the thing.

Anyway B. Johannis was the best fit given the other blurry photos I had at the time.

All I'm seeing at the moment is B. marci.

Red legs?

Does B. johannis have red legs? I've not got the key to hand but that does not seem right to me.

Yes, the leg colour does fit for johannis, at least tibiae and tarsi are reddish. Ackowledging that is a stage in following the key of Freeman and Lane towards johannis.
