Unusual antennae

The antennae are often not easy to see, because of the resting position. I wonder whether you are referring to the front legs, which are very hairy and held stretched well forward?

A super moth; always pleased to see one in the trap, though I seem to find the caterpillars far more often than the adult moth.

unusual antennae

I had thought the front bit to be his antennae, but I am sure you are right and it it is his legs! I am learning a lot. Thankyou.
