Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Crustose Lichen

Found on a road side sandstone wall east facing. There was a substantial amount of crustose lichen mainly white and yellow on the sandstone wall for approximately 3/4 mile. It was noted that the opposing west facing sandstone wall also had the same amount of lichen.

Better resolution needed

White crustose lichens on walls are very difficult, often needing a hand-lens and chemical tests. Even though the photograph is good sized, I cannot make out anything helpful here, and while I could speculate, it would be unwise I think.

Photographing crustose lichens well enough to get the critical surface detail is very difficult!
