Lavant water frog

I know why you thought toad, probably because of the warty skin and in Britain you would be right. However, there are frogs in other countries which have such skin and this is one.

This is a particularly warty individual and they have almost obliterated the distinctive back and leg markings - see your other posting of this frog:

Thank you Graham, yes after seeing many of these during my fortnight on Lesbos, I realise they have quite distinctive markings and they make the same noise! Lynda
