Sorry, halibut, you're right. It seems that although O. faunus is an accepted synonym for the Large Skipper (as is O. venata subsp. faunus), O. sylvanus is the preferred scientific name.
Some websites aren't as up to date as they possibly should be. :(
To be really pedantic none of these are the correct 'scientific name' because none of them cite the authority and date so are not complete. But iSpot doesn't allow that in specifying the names.
zoological names are quite correct without citation of the author and date. While advisable in some circumstances to avoid confusion, citation of authorship is optional according to the ICZN Code, article 51.1: http://www.nhm.ac.uk/hosted-sites/iczn/code/index.jsp?article=51&nfv=true#1
Hence the iSpot look-up lists are not incorrect for this reason.
