Description:

Leaf mine of Phytomyza hellebori in Helleborus foetidus. Probably very unrecorded judging by NBN map. Mines very conspicuous in the winter.

There is no national recording scheme for leaf-mining flies at the moment, so the records aren't being collated anywhere as far as I know, hence the lack of info on the NBN maps. (There is a recording scheme for leaf-mining moths, but as yet it hasn't sent its data to NBN, so they look a bit patchy as well!)
