It could also of been Brown Argus, but the pattern of spots on the hindwing looks good for common blue, it is a more rounded D shape, whereas on Brown Argus it is more squashed or pinched in at the top because the four upper most spots surrounding the central spot on the hindwing are closer together on Brown Argus. At least as far as I can tell from looking at photos of the two side-by-side.
