Large (2.5mm body), fast moving mite, with a light spot on back and pale to dark legs. Several found on a chalky bank in Thetford, Breckland type habitat.
No interactions present.
Don't think it's a Harvestmen, unless it's a juvenile. There are no ocular area features, nor obvious pedipalps. It's very like a Red Velvet Mite Trombidium holosericeum (in size and morphology), but I wondered about the light spot as a different species.
It doesn't look hairy so probably not a velvet mite, but I've no idea which family it is.
