Beetle for ID?

Approx. 3-4cm long, sparkling green and copper colours, with ridges. Found on a rocky ridge covered in bilberry and heather in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire.

Thanks :) thats really interesting to know.... does it have a 'common name' at all? Its such a beautiful beetle!

No 'official' common name,

No 'official' common name, but 'nitens' means 'shining' (very appropriately), so if you want to call it Shining Ground-beetle, I am sure no-one will mind!
