David's advice is the best you can get. Very unwise to try a species level id from pics of nearly all eumenids unless the pic actually shows the key diagnostic features.
Thanks, I was looking at the photo gallery on the bwars website, I never realised there were so many species of the yellow and black stripy types.
Thanks David, slightly foolhardy to go for species with available data but felt lucky... Fingers burned, lesson learned. I am currently updating and renewing/adding to my reference library so any tips and advice in this area are very gratefully recieved.
