Thanks for the ID Syrphus. I am happy to take your word for it... but the locality seems to fit as well. The NBN map shows a dot near where I recorded the beetle... looking into it more, turns out this was the same 10-km square as my sighting. After downloading the data into Excel, I can see that the record(s) for this square (English Nature 1999-2002 data) are actually from the same locality as mine, Wimpole Hall; their grid ref is only c.200 m north and west from where I recorded mine.
