Description:

Single fruiting body found near pond on acid grassland at Norden, near Corfe, Dorset.

Identifications

Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

No interactions present.

With those scales I'd doubt

With those scales I'd doubt if it was C. plicatilis. Maybe lagopus, but it's difficult to get a definite ID without seeing more of it.

I would have gone for C.lagopus but I do feel gills cap size ect are needed too

Hi!
First time I've posted and I'm amazed by the speed of reply - even before I'd edited the photo to the right way up!

Sorry about the lack of gills - it was the only specimen and I didn't want to pick it. Cap size was approx. 50mm diameter.
