2 fledglings, looking for food under our bird feeders and later on nearby shrubs. In town, and within 10 feet of our house. Reminiscent of house sparrow females or possibly female chaffinch but wing bar is across, not down, the wings and looked very wide.
Yellow finch-like beak,
pink feet and standing very low on the ground.
Colour: brown head, wings (except white wing bar) and tail, the latter forked. Pale V-shaped eyestripe extending from eye. Under chin, chest and belly all whitish.
Still showing yellow gape and with whitish-grey fluff.
Identification requested.
