Abundent on all the trees in the area. Oak and Hawthorn


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

How have you identified this

How have you identified this Lichen? I have many pictures of fruticose lichen such as this, but to an untrained eye they seem rather interchangeable!!

If this lichen is white on

If this lichen is white on the underside, then it is most likely of the genus Evernia. grey-green on both sides of the lichen would suggest it is of the genus Ramalina, another feature would be that Evernia sp. divides its branches evenly, where Ramalina does not, both are of the order Lecanorales.
