I've seen loads of this stuff

I've seen loads of this stuff around this year. I'm assuming its Crystal Brain - not to be confused with Yellow brain or Nostoc

Where is the crystal

This looks more like Exidia thuretiana. I cannot see one blob that shows the crystal. Did you press hard on one blob to feel for the crystal?

Did not poke them

I did not poke them because when I took the picture I had not heard about the species (only found out about it on this site). Next time I'll know! Thanks for the alternative ID, it is interesting to see it might be something else than I originally thought.
