Description:

I have seen these a lot, recently, on deciduous tree leaves, at edge of woods. About 7mm long.
Grateful for any suggestions...

Yes, I had sort of arrived at the same rough ID. I keep finding this (at least, they all look to be the same species) on leaves of trees, at about head height, rather than on nettles. Whether that makes it a different species from pomaceus, I don't know.
