Another sanicle picture. Please ignore comment about second picture (they were Goldilocks Buttercup leaves, not Sanicle, but I can't edit the notes).

Are these not the basal leaves of the buttercup? As a species, they vary greatly and give rise to many microspecies in some Floras (eg Flora Nordica).
I've just come back to have another look, having just seen the basal leaves of the goldilocks buttercup on someone else's photo, and found your comment. Thanks!
I don't think I can remove the comments about the leaves - I'll take the photo off and re-identify it I think.
