Just wondering as it seems to be on man-made perches in two of the shots.
Yes They Are They Nest There Every Year. They Had Three Eggs Last Year And They All Hatched.
And They Are Wild, They Come Here From Africa.
Would recognise those man made perches anywhere.
Rutland water, used to watch the osprey there when i was very young, and lived near by.
I Find It Really Good That The Ospreys Come Here.
I seem to remember the first couple were released here?
its nice they come back year on year!
Yes it is. Today the male was attacking a shelduck, do you maybe know why it would do that ?
was it close to potential nest sites?
Shelducks arnt small, I can see why one could upset a bigger bird, especially one competing for food!
but im no expert!
Yes it was about 3ft away from the nest, but they shouldn't be competing for food with ospreys because the ospreys catch big fish.
And i thought shelducks ate weeds and seeds or something like that.
