Decayinf group of large fungi (8" across)


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

I don't think this is Russula

I don't think this is Russula nigricans as this generally has fatter stem and in general usually looks different but I have no idea what it actually is. Many fungi go rather black and horrible after frost.

At a guess this is probably Lactaria species, going on the shape of the stem.
