More male Sand Lizards...

My decision to leave the Night Heron until the evening was vindicated (see earlier post). My quest for male Sand Lizards was successful. They are looking quite magical in their breeding colours, and using extreme stealth I was able to get less than a foot away with a macro lens without disturbing them. Tip: keep low! Many larger birds will eat reptiles, so they are particularly averse to overhead movement.
