Bibio

Two males and a female, which I took to key out, all came out as varipes; but, having put the pics up, I note that the last two have pale hairs on the thoracic dorsum, and look more like lanigerus.

The swarm must have had more than one species involved. Better left as just Bibio.

Invertebrate reputation

Just thought I should point out that Ophrys’s reputation for invertebrates should be 5 symbols not 1.

Thanks! Not sure what

Thanks! This was a software bug - not the kind of bug that we like on iSpot, so it has been fixed!
