growing on a rotting stump in a stumpery fern garden.

Identifications

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.

Cladonia

I think there is Cladonia fimbriata visible too!

I don't know much..................

I don't know much about lichen. But looking at pictures of Cladonia fimbriata it certainly looks like that. I should get extra points for this double hit! - hee hee. The stump cetainly looked beautiful encrusted with fungi, moss, lichens and ferns. It shows just how valuable dead wood is in providing a habitat for many different species.
