A small water beetle (8 mm long) in the Family Dytisicidae. The mesoscutelum was visible and the hind femurs had a row of short spines at the base. The head and pronotum were equally dark. The sides of the pronotum were pale - as can be seen in the picture. The elytra were lighter than the head and pronotum but only slightly. The underside of the beetle was dark. Using the Key by Friday I reached the conclusion that this was Agabus sturmii.
