Common vs Arctic Tern

Not that this is an 'ID feature' but as a general rule, Common Terns are much more likely to be seen inland than Arctic Terns. The latter do appear (usually briefly and in small numbers) at inland water bodies on migration, but they only breed at coastal locations. Common Terns breed on a range of inland waterbodies and are likely to be encountered on/over lakes, rivers etc throughout the summer.
