St George's Mushroom ?

Growing at edge of Hazel copse. Largest in cap size were approx 5". Smell very mushroomy. On young specimens the gills were white, older ones appeared to be brownish (the colour of cultivated mushrooms). Stalk slightly bulbous at base.


Caution: Do NOT use iSpot to identify fungi to eat!

Some fungi are very poisonous so a mistaken ID could have serious consequences.
